Good day all. Up for sale is my 1971 Speedmaster Professional. I acquired this watch in March of 2021 from one of my watchmakers. To my knowledge, it is fully original with the exception of the Omega 1175/640 flat link bracelet which I added after purchase and which is correct for this reference (the watch came with an incorrect 1171-1 service bracelet when I bought it, so the 1175/640 is a significant upgrade). I will let the photos speak for themselves, but this is the nicest example of a 1971 Speedy that I have ever seen. The case is unpolished with just a few minor scratches. The bezel is perfect as are the tritium dial and handset. Although I do not have service records, I can represent that the watch was serviced immediately prior to my purchasing it and is still under warranty through March of 2023. I can supply the warranty card. It winds up smoothly, runs well within specifications, and all chronograph functions work as they should. I am selling it only because I recently acquired a 1969 Speedmaster Straight Writing and I really don’t need two Speedies in my collection. The price is $6,000 USD. I value the watch head at $5,200 per the Speedmaster 101 price chart for a “very good” example and the 1175/640 bracelet and end links at another $800. I am throwing in free shipping and insurance worldwide as well as one of the new style Omega lacquered wooden watch boxes with cream leather interior. All in all, it’s a very nice package. Payment via Wise, bank wire transfer or PayPal F&F. No returns unless I’ve grossly misrepresented the watch’s condition - which I haven’t. 😀 I’ve been a very active member of OF since 2018 and I think that I can round up a few members who will vouch for my character without me having to pay them. You can also check my feedback under username gbesq on eBay and I can provide references from C24 as well. Please don’t be offended if I decide to ask for references from you as well. I’m happy to answer any questions, just PM me. Thanks for looking and now for the pics:

A superb transaction!

Greg was very accommodating regarding the wire xfer since I wasn’t able to accomplish it for about six days due to being at work. Also, Greg kept me in the loop regarding everything he was doing regarding getting the Speedmaster to my location…SUPERB!

The 1971 Speedmaster 145.002 arrived today and it was EXACTLY as described…SUPERB!

Packaging consisted of triple boxing…SUPERB!

On a scale from 1 to 10, Greg gets the almighty “This Is Spinal Tap” 11 as a seller [reference last pic below]…SUPERB!

Thanks, Greg…

I have to return Mad Dog’s kind compliment and tell everyone that Collin is a stellar buyer and the original stand up guy. After initially offering to purchase my Speedy, Collin telephoned me to introduce himself and we ended up talking for a good half hour about all things Speedmaster, various aircraft and our careers. He had just begun a five day trip for work, but promised me that upon his return home that he would go to his bank the next morning and wire the purchase price to me - and that’s exactly what he did! Promise made and promise kept! I am very selective about the watches that I acquire for my collection and even more picky about who I sell them to - and having spoken with Collin I knew immediately that he was the right guy. I’ve seldom met anyone who was so enthusiastic about Omega generally and Speedmasters in particular. I know that my Speedy will be well cared for in Collins hands and very much appreciated - and that’s precisely the kind of new home that I wanted for my ‘71. I would do business again with Collin without hesitation and you should too. Highly recommended. 👍
