·Hi,
Newbie here. I have recently acquired a 1970s ladies 9ct gold Omega watch with a manual wind Omega calibre 625 movement.
Nothing unusual there I am sure. However there are two things that have me slightly puzzled.
The first is the winding crown. It doesn’t feature the Omega logo. Instead it has the logo of a castle inside a shield (watchtower?).
I have been unable to identify the castle and shield logo. Is this something that ever appeared on Omega watches or is it simply a replacement crown? The gold colour of the crown seems to match the gold case perfectly.
The second is the stamps inside the case back. It features the usual Omega stamps and gold hallmarks. However it also has a large capital ‘W’ stamped inside the case back. Is this a retailers stamp or something else?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
