Hey all,

I've wanted a Certina DS2 for a while now, and actually purchased one a few years ago, but had to send it back because the movement wasn't working. I have been browsing casually and found another DS2 that I really like. I don't want to get burned again so hoping for some help on whether or not this is worth it.

Included pictures below, current selling price is around CAD600, but the dealer is open to negotiation.

I’m afraid that the crème brûlée dial is far too damaged for my taste.

In your shoes I’d keep on looking.

Agreed with @Spruce
I'm far from being a specialist but just for info I got that one here (through Private Watch Sales) from a fellow OF member for nearly 1/2 of this price...

If I were you, I would also keep on looking. Those watch are very nice and you can find them in much better condition (dial & case) than the one you posted.

Not at this price. I too picked up one for less than half and in nicer condition.

Its a very good quality watch and also very undervalued, in that condition should cost half that price at much.

Even Chrono24 (yes, I know) has nicer examples at close to your price

Hey thanks all, appreciate the feedback.

Would you all have any advice on sites to look at besides chrono24?

Ebay is a good site. This DS-2 for example is a better choice than the watch you posted and half the price (and the seller takes offers). Remember you have to pay tax/import fees. DS-2 is a wonderful watch and it was very popular back in the day. Which means new examples come up for sale almost daily, so you can wait for a while and look for a really sharp specimen. Good luck.
