    Hi,

I have a 1970 speedmaster. I have been led to believe that this is a mk ii. The movement and case serial numbers both match up however the dial only says Omega, Speedmaster, Professional and no mention of mk ii on the dial. I have looked up many other 1970 Speedmaster's and the vast majority of them do have mk ii on the dial.

If anyone could shed some light on this that would be great.

    Many thanks,

    Lewis.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Three or four pictures..... you get the idea.

Interesting. Is it possible they used a pro service dial at some point in the past by accident? Or perhaps it underwent some surgery and came out with a moonwatch dial?

I suppose it could be that some mk iis did not have any mk text but I have never seen one.

Edit: I should clarify the reason for my wonder, that is definitely a mk ii case

Mk. II case but with a 1980s regular Speedmaster dial. Strange, as we usually see this happen the other way around.
