Good day to everyone here. Big thanks for all your help as I navigate through all these new information. I have been eyeing a vintage watch for some time now (photos attached below). I’ve done my research with regards to its authenticity but unfortunately it has been limited due to the small number of pictures/info available online for this particular watch. I would greatly appreciate any input from this forum. Thank you in advance.

Just a bit of a back story, it is being sold to me for $550 due to a broken self winding. I have been told that it usually retails for around $3800. I plan to have it serviced after purchase.

Welcome to the forums! The watch looks authentic to me. I've never seen this type of Constellation 'retail' for $3800 but they don't really interest me so I can't say I've taken much notice.

$3800 for this watch is bananas. $500 would be fair if everything was working, but you may find it needs more work than advertised. Fully-functional examples are available on eBay on a semi-regular basis for $600-700 if you’re a bit patient, although rarely with the original box.

(...)t, although rarely with the original box.

Which this one isn't.

3800$ is completely absurd and I'd have serious doubts regarding the seller for saying this. +1 on the evaluation of 600-700USD for a working example.

Yeah I was worried it would be more of a headache to have it serviced later on. Thanks for the tip. Hopefully I see one better. Have a great day!
