For sale is an excellent condition King Seiko 5626-700 from February 1970.

There is much on this watch and this era of King and Grand Seiko on the internet, but this watch represents a peak of Seiko when they were competing with the Swiss for supremacy.

The case, along with the 44 and 45 Grand Seiko cases represent the pinnacle of Taro Tanaka design in my opinion, and the movement was beating the Swiss in international chronometer competitions until the Swiss banned the Japanese.

This is a great opportunity to pick up a fantastic watch with real history at a very reasonable price.

The watch is in excellent shape, with extremely sharp edges (important for Tanaka cases) and very little wear for its age. The dial is in excellent shape with no visible blemishes or discoloration. The case back shows very little wear as well, with the gold medallion and all engravings sharp and clear.

The movement was Chronometer certified with its own individualized serial number as seen in the photos. The watch was allegedly serviced in 2025 just prior to purchase by me, but the only additional evidence I have are the movement photos included in this posting. All functions work well, and the date wheel ticks over with no issues.

The watch measures 36.5mm diameter, 42mm lug to lug, 10.5mm thick with a 18mm lug width.

The strap shown in the photos is included along with a replica King Seiko buckle. I will include a plain buckle as well.

Please take a look at the photos below, as they are a part of the sale. All photos with the exception of the movement photos were taken by me.

Asking $775 net to me, I will include USPS Priority shipping for US buyers. International shipping to be discussed. No returns please unless watch is misrepresented. PayPal or Venmo preferred.

Thank you for looking!
