Looks like a good deal since original dial and hands were included. Recent service by Omega is a plus for me. Original dial lume isn't the prettiest but at least included.

The original dial doesn't look stepped, and with a 27.7x serial I'd expect it to be a -68 anyway, not a later -69 with a DNN bezel. Sure, all could have been replaced at services long ago, but this one's mostly parts value IMO

I have been looking at a lot of these. I've seen some in 1969 case backs with 33. Mil serials and more with 27. through 29. Without an extract or original documents it seems to be a strategic guess right?

Service dial and service hands. Original dial looks about worthless. Finding a proper vintage 861 dial and hands is possible and not crazy expensive like a c321 dial. I think it was a great deal.

I took a little better picture of the original dial. I've never seen a stepped dial in person so I don't know if this is or isn't. What are your thoughts of the newer picture?

The dial is not stepped. Reference the small S dial present in the 145.022-74 and some early 145.022-76.

Ok. Thanks for that information. So is this just a later dial and this had to originally have the stepped? I've order the extract so I'll at least know a little more information.

The step is where the dome is. So the end of the minute markers will have a slight step.

That dial is highly questionable, at a minimum it's had the lume removed. At max it's a fake but I'm leaning towards the somewhat rare 74- early 76 dial with the lume removed. It's got some white marks all over the dial also. I'd avoid it.

Ohh forgot to add the last step dial was 145.022-71 and maybe some very early -74

The dial looks genuine to me, and I don't believe the lume has been removed.

Not a service dial, unless it was serviced in 74-76, not a 69 dial for sure. I've never seen a 74 or -76 have the same lume color as the dial printing at this point. Maybe it's the color washed out but you would expect some yellow or green.

It looks like some of the lume still remains, see the 4 and 11 markers, but still for sure shouldn't be on a -68

Might need a lot of work and some extra money for a nice dial.

It appears three periods surrounding the watch. The earliest serial for -69 is 28,4xx while it has a 69 caseback and dial that is for later 76 or 78 if not replacement. With this kinda mixed parts and lower Seller's feedback, this all contributes to the price. IMO, you can get a correct step dial and a set of tritium handset with a total spending around 4k which isn't bad. Good news is it's been serviced by Omega so only the cosmetic parts are of concern. Good luck!

I've ordered an Extract of the Archives to find out exactly when this left Omega. You mention the earliest-69 serial number. Where did that info come from. I've seen two different charts for dates.
Thanks for all the good information! It will help
