Wanted to share my new 145.022 from 1969. I purchased it from the daughter of a war veteran (his name is inscribed on the back of the case) and she gave me his picture with his name on it as well - not very common in my finds.
The watch unfortunately came with a new bracelet and now I am on the hunt for a 1039/516 set up.
Let me know what you guys think and if you have a 1039/516 for sale!
Cheers and I look forward to sharing more of my watches with the community and showed a picture of the 300 I got from her as well.

My dad was a Vietnam vet twice over. He bought stereo equipment instead of watches. These watch and stereo purchases meant alot to these men. It kept hope alive that there was life after the war and it got their mind off of the 24 hours a day stress of the war. You have a very special watch in many ways. This is what makes watches so special, that close physical connection to previous lives. Wear them with pride.

Edit: Dad brought home a Seiko.

Nice pair of omega’s. Like some one said when military were overseas we bought a lot of stuff and I did buy some stuff like watches and stereo equipment. In Guam were I was stationed from 1980-1983 I got a Seiko quartz 7548 diver but spent more on the stereo equipment bought all Kenwood one payday I got the receiver then the double caset deck on anther payday then the set of speakers mailed each piece home one at a time. Stuff was so cheap back then. Wished I knew more on watches just think in 1984 when in Hong Kong how cheap I could of got older Omega and Rolex for if only I knew. And I only bought a cheap Seiko. Still got that Seiko.
