·For sale is this beautiful Hamilton gg-w-113 government issued Vietnam War pilot's watch. This model was speced by the U.S. government for pilots in the U.S. military. While I don't have the provenance for it, it probably saw service in the war, since these were produced specifically for enlisted soldiers and weren't sold to civilians. It has the government federal stock number case back. The case is parkerized steel, for toughness and anti-glare. The dial is a sterile dial with tritium lumed markers and 24 hour numerals. It's manual wind, with hacking seconds. For more info on this model, see: American Mil-Spec: A GG-W-113 Pilot Watch Buyers Guide — 60Clicks
Being a 1969, it has the earlier 685 movement and drilled lugs for spring bars. They didn't start doing fixed bars until 1970.
This one was fully restored and serviced last year by a vintage specialist, including a new crystal (acrylic, like the original). Message me and I can provide details of the service. Except the crystal and strap, it's all original. The dial is perfect and the case and crown have only a few tiny scratches. The most obvious sign of age is that the second hand has lost some lume. The hour and minute hands look great with just some minor degradation of lume. The lume has aged to a nice tritium patina. The last photo is a movement shot from the watchmaker during servicing (message me, and I can send more).
Numerous military homage watches copied the style of this watch, but this is the original
