·Hi all,
up for grabs today my Seiko 6105-8000 "proof/proof" vintage diver dating back to july, 1968.
As I'm raising funds in view of a major purchase, I'm listing some watches I don't wear.
Particularly, I bought this Seiko to an american collector back in 2019, had it serviced just after receiving it and since then very sparingly worn.
Getting into the details:
41mm ssteel cushion case appears to be clean and substantially unpolished, retaining the original brushed finishing on the top and underside, with a few scratches and dents here and there. Crown is the correct non screw-down marked Seiko. Typical horseshoe caseback is clear and still perfectly readable, correctly bearing markings and serial number. Original insert is in good shape, with lume pip intact and just some minor scratches. bezel rotates freely in both directions, as it should. Original hardlex crystal very clear.
Original and untouched "water 150m proof" black dial is in very good shape, original hands and indexes show some even patina, sweep arrowhead hand retains its innermost red area, now faded to slight orange.
The 6105A in house movement is a 17 jewel automatic and is non-hacking, which is correct for this model. It was completely overhauled by ny trusty watchmaker in march 2019, although I don't have any receipt, and it keeps very good time.
Watch comes on a lightly used 19mm reproduction waffle strap from UncleSeiko.
