I'm looking for a birthyear watch for my brother.
i'll look at anything you have to offer but as much as i love my brother i have a £1500 max limit.
i could get other family members to chip in if something exceptional turns up

Do a forum, google, and eBay search for a nice 1968 Gold Constellation, maybe a gold capped or stainless model if gold ones are too much. Then present photos here to get an opinion about it's originality and whether it's got a repainted dial or parts that were swapped out, etc.

A 1968 Seamaster Diver or Speedmaster moonwatch will be 3-4x your budget.

You're likely looking for a 26,xxx,xxx or 27,xxx,xxx movement but there is no way to be sure it will land on 1968 without an extract...
