Dash1
·I took this one in as part of a swap deal on another watch, but I have several 165.024's already so am moving it straight on.
Omega Seamaster 300, case reference 165 024, with a cal.552 automatic movement, serial number 24.226.***. The serial number has been confirmed in the Omega archive as a 165 024, manufactured in April 1967 and delivered to Sweden.
All parts are genuine Omega and correct for a 300 of this serial range, except for the crown which is a later service one and the new 'Tropic' strap.
The case is, I think, unpolished, with the original brushed finish visible on the sides. It does have plenty of marks and two dings on the upper left lug. The case back retains a nice clear engraving.
The bezel has aged to a pleasant colour and is the correct one for this age. It has no major cracks but does have plenty of minor marks and a small ding near the 51 min marker and no longer turns so probably needs a good clean underneath.
The original 't swiss t' dial is in excellent condition, I can see no damage on it at all (all the marks visible in the photos are on the glass) and retains its original lume. The hands have aged slightly differently and may have been relumed, but they seem to be tritium.
The 552 movement is clean and in good condition. It's currently running well but the last service is unknown. The rotor and bridge might have been replaced at a past service but are period correct.
The serial number has been confirmed in the Omega archive which is a big plus point.
The crown is a later service one.
The crystal is an early logo type and has multiple scratches. The watch would be vastly improved if the crystal was polished or replaced.
The strap is a new & unused rubber 'Tropic.' I have many other types of strap if you prefer something different.
Asking £4350 GBP delivered worldwide (net.)
All photos taken in natural light, both in and out of the sunlight.
Thanks for looking.
