I collect Texas bowl game watches, and this isn’t one, but it is a unique one, so I picked it up. For those that weren’t aware, this watch uses a battery, but it is not a quartz watch.

I really like the look (love the alligator wearing a football helmet), especially the “lightning” on the second hand (the second hand motion is different from a mechanical and a quartz watch; it moves about twelve times every five seconds).

The 1966 Gator Bowl was between Tennessee (winner) and Syracuse (loser, despite having Larry Csonka and Floyd Little in the backfield).

I paid about $520 to get it from eBay and then to have repaired. I sold it to a buddy (not a Syracuse or Tennessee fan), who bought it just for general interest (along with a bunch of other bowl watches, so lost in the noise).

Aueagles80, is there any chance you have an extra ‘74 Gator Bowl watch? I have an Auburn bowl game dial I could include in a trade/purchase?

That pic is an image from an eBay listing that was a brief BIN last night, at $79. I “purchased” it, but it was canceled (refunded) for lack of inventory. Did you get it first?

I have a 1956 Hamilton Orange Bowl Watch from OU's 1955 National Championship. I've always wondered what it's worth.
An ou national championship? Virtually nothing.😁

Got it through a Facebook group sale.
