Good morning, I have been left this 18ct gold Omega by my grandfather, I must apologise I am not a watch person by any means, I am struggling to find out what model it may be and thought someone may be able to advise, many thanks

Reference BA indicates Yellow Gold 18ct.

3 = Gents Bracelet watch.
1 = Manual Winding Without Second.
1 - Non-water-resistant.

It has no model name like "Seamaster", "De Ville" etc, simply a Gents Omega watch.

Unfortunately the value will in the scrap price of the gold. These watches although coming back into fashion are limited by the bracelet size (can’t be made bigger, difficult to be made smaller) and case size.
Smaller cases were more usual then.

Roughly what would be taken off the overall gold weight for the movement etc?

No one is going to be able to accurately answer that question from pictures on the internet.

You would need to go to a watchmaker and have him remove the stem, crown and movement. None of those are gold. You can subtract a couple of grams for the crystal and add a few for the dial (which looks to be gold).

You could roughly assume 10-20g for the movement, dial, hands, crystal.

BA 311.5489 is not a model number, it's the case reference number.
