Having recently retired from a demanding job, i finally have time to take up a new hobby and I've always been interested in watches, so ... time to put my investigators hat on and get stuck in!

I've been browsing the local Jewellery shops and came across this lovely looking Omega Seamaster 600. I think it's been priced as a solid gold so will have a fair bit of negotiating to do but just wondered if any of you guys could confirm my findings so far?

I believe it's a 1964 Seamaster 600 Gold Plated Linen Face (JD 135.011) with a Cal 601 Movement and an 8260 GP 5 Row Parallel Bracelet with 50 end links. The Crystal is signed and the Crown is a genuine Omega. The previous owner apparently brought it from new and had the bracelet fitted at the same time but no longer has the box or Certs. It's supposed to have been serviced a few times and there are faint markings on the movement and case back which support this but again, no receipts.

I've noticed that the caseback has a 136.011 model number so must be incorrect, ether that or it should have a Cal 611/613 inside. I've tried to match the case makers symbol but so far without any luck. Does this mean that someone has replaced the back? It has the engraved Hippocampus on the rear.

I managed to grab a few pictures in the shop and would appreciate any advice ...
