1964 Bluebonnet Bowl Omega Watch

I recently came across a box full of old watches in my parents dumpster. I have posted some of them on Reddit and have been told it sounds like a fantastical story, and I suppose it does. So before I get 50 comments saying that I am lying, let me just dismiss the elephant in the room from the start by saying I have no desire to debate this and literally zero reason to lie about where and how I came across this particular item. It was found in the dumpster with the Rolex, Longines, Hamilton, and the others.

These watches were (again) literally in a dumpster. Based on that fact and the condition of most of them, they obviously haven’t been well taken care of or maintained properly.

Anyway, here it is: a working vintage Omega given to someone affiliated with either Ole Miss or Tulsa for the 1964 Bluebonnet Bowl.

I intend to sell it eventually and use the funds to help pay for my daughter’s college tuition. I am checking in here to see if anyone can provide insight and estimated value.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to come here with such a defensive attitude about how you found your watches. Much stranger things have happened in life.

Also, by announcing up front your intentions to sell them (however valid the reason), you’ve technically violated one of the rules of this forum. No sales on the main forum. However, I’m going to let this go with out a further discussion of value at this point.

Regarding the Bluebonnet Bowl watch, here is a link to other bowl related watches:

Is there a name on the back that could be traced to a player or coach on one of the teams?

I’m not in love with the overall look of the Rolex, although the cal. 1570 movement looks correct. Maybe the dial and/or bezel were replaced with non-Rolex parts. Can you show us the inside of the caseback?

Let’s see the other watches in the hoard.

Who cares where you found them? As far as value goes, they ought to fund a week or two of in-state college tuition.
