I just had a look at their IG page and sales site.

What a load of bullshit.
Redials described as having "flawless dials" and so on - the usual dodgy seller wording straight out of the Ev3rclear textbook.

Also, an IG page with 2,000+ followers and less than twenty likes per post? Pull the other one.

@topfox59, I hope you get your money back and watch out for newbie-baiters in the future!

Thanks everyone. I want to be clear the seller has been very receptive and helpful.
He has also agreed to a refund. luckily he hadn’t sent it as it was waiting on a longer strap so no cost regarding shipping.
I am now on the look out for another similar watch. Constellation, PiePan, Cross Hairs but I don’t want to be too prescriptive as it’s the best watch for my budget.
I now also know a bit more what too look out for but if I see something I feel is worthwhile I intend to ask the forum for their opinion.
I’m already in discussion with a potential watch.
So all in all the issues have been resolved and too be honest the seller has been very agreeable

Omega Forum et al
I wanted to update you all on my journey to obtain a vintage Omega Constellation, and close of this thread as an example of inexperience but the value of OF.
I’ve made the typical noob mistakes, with more haste than fully understanding the market.
Luckily the OF came to my rescue and I recieved some solid advice from some great members.
A particular shout out to @JimInOz, @Peemacgee and of course @MtV . There are others that provided advice and guidance and I thank you all.
As a summary timeline I bought a Constellation in May 21 from a UK seller, Watch Vintage, from Bristol UK.
The watch I selected was suggested by Watch Vintage as a good example and the thread provides the description and journey obtaining this watch.
However, unfortunately all was not to be and this post perhaps can be used as experience for others that find themselves in a similar situation.
Conclusion, join OF, ask advice, sit back, review examples and then wait for the right watch to turn up.
Then ask for further advice!
Anyhow, the original watch was a redial, heavily polished and overpriced so went back and I was refunded my £2100😀(). I had paid by CC so there were some safeguards.
Anyhow I was now a ‘free man’, a little wiser and a little more experienced.
Then a well known respected member on Omega Forum, @MtV, mentioned he had a particular watch, a 1960 no date SS Constellation ref 14900.
The watch came serviced and betrays it’s 60odd years of age-it looks mint!!
The watch arrived Friday and I fitted a new croc strap with an original mint omega buckle, I also sourced from an OF member @Magnix👍
Really, really, really pleased- thank you Matt (@MtV) but also Jim (@JimInOz ) and Phillip (@Peemacgee )👍👍👍
Enough chat some pics of my new acquisition
Russ
PS Now to find a suitable BOR!!

Congratulations Russ, you now have a cracking example of a pie pan dogleg that you can really be proud of.

I’d like to give a shout out to @MtV , who actively encouraged Russ to get opinions from other members about the watch he was providing.

It is this kind of interaction that makes you proud to be part of the OF family.

Thanks a lot! It was great timing most of all - when Russ got in touch, it was only about the Redial he initially bought. Then he mentioned what he was looking for and I happened to have just the right one that I was going to list here anyway. It just felt somehow dodgy to offer a watch to a new member out of the blue, hence my suggestion to involve a few others. 😀 Really glad you like it @topfox59 - wear it in good health!

You struck gold there, and what a great OF story. I too have greatly benefited from the knowledge, patience and generosity of @Peemacgee and @MtV
As I have from your recent post with the recommendation of a future watchmaker that is close to me👍

Wear in health @topfox59, that is a lovely pie pan. So I have to jump in here and give a shout out to Matt, @MtV as well, who also helped me to my first Connie and subsequently my first pie pan, he is so generous with his knowledge, time and his lovely collection and a gentleman too, well done Matt. And as no post is complete without a picture😀

Guys
Hoping for some advice regarding the Omega Constellation below
https://www.instagram.com/p/CN-KOCgH3ww/
The seller, based in the UK, is an honest and open seller who has been very responsive and very knowledgeable. He deals almost exclusively in antique Omegas and clearly knows his stuff, something that attracted me.
The original advert stated the dial was flawless and the movement serviced in April 2021. However, it has been brought to my attention that there are some possible 'flaws' which may or may not be normal for a Constellation.
Broaching the subject with the seller he responded quickly and it appears the dial has been repainted which I wasn't originally aware of.
The cross hairs for example do not centrally dissect the Omega logo.
The Chronometer logo has an M that does not match the automatic M, which I understand is the correct style 'sloping' sides. Whether this is wrong or right I am not sure.
The Constellation Star is at an angle which I understood was a common issue and easily rectified.
I bought the watch as I loved the look and still do. It is likely I would never have realised these possible issues without the benefit of this forum.
I paid significantly over my budget based on the description and my gut feel with this seller - something I am still comfortable with.
However, I was interested in hearing thoughts on those with the expertise as we all wish to know future values are not affected by changes to originality which were not initially aware of.
I look forward to your comments
Russ

This blog has awesome Information on vintage Connies. I think it must be a redial There is lume on the dial so I would think it would have a "T" at the end and sometimes also at the beginning of "SWISS MADE" text at 6. There's also some info about the first peak of the M lining up with the center of the O below it and lining up just right of the end the Y below that. I read it in the blog linked. I'm by no means an expert but ended up diving into the rabbit hole in search of my first vintage Omega Constellaion. WIll post when I received this week.
