Hi all! Was passed down (what I believe is) a 1962 Seamaster 300 CK 14755 with original bracelet.

Looking to get it properly identified, appraised, repaired, serviced, and cleaned a little. The original bezel has a crack around 10 and is slightly detached. I understand, and agree, that the goal with a watch like this is to keep everything as original as possible.

I've done some preliminary research and am leaning toward either Tim Mackrain (OmegaAddict) or Nesbit's. Price isn't really a significant factor, I mostly just want it to be done right.

Any suggestions/tips/2 cents otherwise? I've only ever worn Timex, Casio, and Seiko before being given this.

I suspect that Nesbitt's would just send it to Switzerland, where Omega would offer to replace everything. I'm really hesitant to make recommendations on a searchable forum, but there are some great independent watchmakers working on Omega, and for a watch like this, I'd go with one of the best. And ask them specifically if they have dealt with stabilizing these bezels previously.

And stop touching it.

That's a great looking watch and a fine inheritance. I can't tell if that's an original bezel insert or not from the pictures, I've never seem an original one hang loose like that before, they normally kind of flake away when distressed.

For the rest it looks in very good shape, bracelet too, so a simple movement service will be all that is necessary plus some work on that bezel of course. If orignal- do everything possible to stabilise and reattach it, if not then there are now a few restorers of these in different locations. Some will also do servicing.
