Up for sale is a Smiths Deluxe dated to 1961. There is estimated to be 600 of these created in a batch for both the UK and Australia. UK have fat arrows on the dials while Australians have thin arrrows. The serials 150 - 600 are thought to be created for the Australian military. While the earlier ones for the UK. The UK ones were made for RAF but Australian ones are to my knowledge not known. It doesn't seem to be RAAF due to lack of logs but the main thought on these seems to be that they were for the Fleet Air Arm of RAN. A lot of these were redialed by MOD but this one has its original dial. You can tell by the closed 6s/9s and lack of a circle T on the dial. I purchased it off eBay the end of last year. I've just polywatched the crystal and had the movement serviced. This thread tracks all the known examples of these. There are 13 Australians currently known and this one is included in there. It is 465: http://www.mwrforum.net/forums/showthread.php?32902-Military-Smiths-De-Luxe I am just asking what I have in it: $6000 USD. I have many references here if you search my username. Any questions please let me know. Thanks for looking! Thanks OF for the space!
Bumpity bump bump. You probably won't find a nicer one than this. A pretty cool piece of British/ Australian military history.
