Scarecrow Boat
··Burt Macklin, FBIHi OF,
For sale I have a nice Omega 166.002 Geneve with crosshair dial from around 1967. Bracelet (shown below) not included.
Omega Geneve Automatic
Reference: 166.002
Movement: cal. 565 with quick set dat
Serial: 25335606
Year: 1967
Case: ~34.5mm, stainless steel
The case does show signs of wear commensurate with age and while I cannot claim it is unpolished, it does show defined edges. The crown is an Omega Naiad crown and I do not believe it to be original to the watch. The plexi is in great condition and is damage free; however, do not see a logo in the center. The dial and hands are original and have aged to a similar and pleasing cream color. The silver dial is very nice but does have very light patina. I encourage anyone to open the images in a new window and zoom to see the patina in detail. I believe the crosshairs and dial furniture make this a somewhat uncommon variant of this reference. I do see faint scribe marks on the inside of the caseback but beyond this, I do not have a reliable service history. In fact, I can only recommend a service for 2 reasons: 1.) as shown in the movement images, the movement is missing one tab/screw. The one present tab is doing a very good job at keeping the movement secure within the case as there is zero play/movement of the dial/movement within the case. 2.) there is audible rotor rub even with the caseback removed. Having said that, the watch winds as it should via crown, keeps decent time at an observed ~60spd gain (watch resting dial up), strong power reserve, and date quick set works how it should (date also naturally changes within a couple minutes before midnight). I believe I have covered everything but I am happy to address anything else in pm. The watch is being sold head only.
I am asking $450 (PP F&F) with shipping included within the CONUS. Shipping internationally will be an addition $25
