Catching up on incomings...here's a run of the mill 1960 Sporto - Zenith's everyman watch Raised, stylized numbers that say "it's the sixties - the future is now!" I never understood why Zenith patented the Sporto cases - I don't see what is special about them The hook that made me buy this one is the pretty, apparently untouched cal. 40 with its plastic dustcover perfectly intact.
I got a laff out of that too. It's one thing when the numbers are painted, but honestly, is it necessary to put in a fragmentary digit in a pressed metal dial? It wouldn't have been ok to just put in a dash or lume dot?
