Mafkees
·Dear OF,
Up for your consideration is my Longines Conquest in excellent condition. The photos used in this listing were made with a DSLR using a macro lens in very harsh lighting, so take it from me it looks even better in person.
The watch is fully original, including the crown, and unpolished. Of course, the greatest asset of this ref. is the reflective 'railtrack' on the dial, which produces a great sense of depth.
The diameter (excl. crown) is 35mm and it takes 18mm straps.
The hour lengthy hour markers are elegant, as are the dimpled, chunky markers. The markers are a solid 18 carat white gold and so shiny! It makes for a very interesting and dynamic dial, especially combined with the railtrack.
While this is a radium dial, the lume was using sparingly. The lume in the 'syringes' has taken an attractive darkened tone, rendering it almost invisible. The dial has a vertical brush throughout, which grabs the light nicely. Do note the absolutely perfect length of the hands - you love to see it!
I'm trying to think of negatives regarding this watch, but the best I can come up with is the slightly deteriorated lume on the dial. It really is in remarkable condition. The service history of the cal. 290 movement is unknown to me, but I timegraphed it a couple of months ago and it deviates but a few seconds a day and the crown action is sturdy and satisfactory in every regard, too.
I don't have the timegrapher at hand at this time, but I can picture the accuracy in the coming week, if desired.
Here's a 'quick and dirty' one of the case back, which is in fine shape.
