Bought this U.G. Polerouter with some other watches in a estate. Have had it serviced at vintage watch specialist and realized it is a rare piece. Have looked online and have not found one with exactly same setup 1957 UG Polerouter broad arrow hands and microtor only dial, in very good condition, not polished case just cleaned and light patina on dial. Original period correct leather strap, has the patent pending mark on the movement. Thinking of selling, but unsure if I should wait for the release of the new Polerouter. Have had some estimates from watch specialist, but unsure of value. Anyone here have a suggestion towards value.

Do you have a clear picture of the caseback, or read the case reference number from the case? Could be on the inside or outside of caseback, depending on which contractor made the case for that model.

Based on the rarity of this design and the unusuallly nice condition, your watch is quite valuable.

It’s stamped on the inside of the caseback, enclosing a photo

Nice watch, looks completely original, quite valuable. It would help to know the case reference and serial but it might be polished off, which is very common. I think the only thing it could be is a 20360/3 ? But I'm not an expert on these references. @CafeRacer and @Mazoue can probably give you more definite info.

As to value, I think that is very hard to say. With the relaunch in process, many collectors are holding UG at the moment, and dealers are pushing the prices up aggressively. In that sense it might be a good time to sell, on the other hand, who can predict the future or where prices will go in the coming years.

If you listed this as .99 cent no reserve auction on ebay, I honestly don't know where it would end up. Not that I'm suggesting you take that approach, but I'm just making a point. If it were me, I would probably hold it, or if you want to sell, put it on consignment with a well known dealer.

PS I think the value is mostly the fact that it's a nice BA polerouter, not the "microtor" only dial. I'm not sure that particular detail is a major premium, but I could be wrong.
PPS here's my BA (bumper)

The movement is a 20360-3 and the case has number 1840476 and looking online this seems to be 1956 not 1957

That’s great both numbers are still visible. (FYI 20360/3 is the reference number, not the movement number, which is a cal 215).

Thanks for the info, no expert on watches but buy when I’m looking in estate sales.
