As noted, cal 505 is a no-date movement. Please show photos of the movement.

THe photo of the movement folks are asking for is to pop the back off and show it. As they've mentioned, if you have a real 505 movement in there then you DEFINITELY have a frankenwatch (or a fake!) since that movement doesn't have a date.

It seems to be basically a correct 2849 re case/dial/crown/hands, but powered by a chronometer-grade 505 modified to have a date. Strange watch.

Could it just be a bridge swapped from another movement? Are there any similar movements that would have a date?

It looks like it's still got its radium so I don't think it's a redial as such but obviously it doesn't have the calendar font which I find odd.Its also got its Omega symbol on the plastic crystal and Omega crown..so it's not like it's a real butcher job other than the obvious 505 on the bridge.

I'd read in the distant past that a very few Seamasters were given the 505 movement but only for about 6 months were the movements used before being superseded but that could have just been an opinion anyway.

The rotor and bridge were swapped from a 505. It was a 503 when it left the factory.

But yes as you say I'd think it's logical to be swapped out for a different bridge...
