·Hello everyone,
time to let one go and maybe make someone else who’s looking for a 50s Connie on a budget happy. I’ve had this dial, movement and hands here for a while from a project and figured I'd rather see it on someone's wrist than in my drawer.
This is a ca. 1956 Constellation 2852, serviced, working perfectly, for (just) under 1000€. I think the last time we had a 2852 sell here for an mount in the triple digits was about 4 years ago. You do need to like patina, though – this is how that little pumpkin looks:
The Watch
Omega Constellation
Reference: 2852
Movement: cal. 505 full-rotor automatic, chronometer certified
Serial: 15221591
Year: ca. 1956
Case: 34.5mm, gold-capped
Dial: Original two-tone dome dial, “Chevron” indices, 12-3-6-9 numerals, cross hair
Strap: The depicted, super soft Shell Horween strap is included.
Condition
Dial & Hands: The original dial aged significantly. It has a bronze shimmer, ranging to an orange glow in some angles and the sunlight, which is pretty spectacular. Reduce the light and it reverses to a warm brown. I hope the images do convey the range of colors. It’s certainly far from perfect, but I’d say far from unattractive either and the price including the service should reflect that. French “Chronometre” spelling, as is expected from one of the earlier 2852, all the writing is present on the dial. The gold hands retain their lume and are in good shape.
Case: Original 34.5mm gold-capped case. It’s certainly been polished before, the gold-cap is intact though and significant edges on the lugs remain. Minor scratches everywhere, as expected from an almost 70-year-old watch. The case back is sharp, showing the original brushing around the center, a medallion with all stars, and the original boxed “Constellation” and “waterproof” writing clearly legible.
Crown: Original and period-correct flat-feet Omega crown, correct thick decagonal style.
Crystal: Generic crystal in good condition.
Movement: Original cal. 505 automatic, full-rotor, chronometer certified. The movement is in great mechanical shape, having just been fully serviced. Accordingly, it sets, winds and runs very smoothly, has a great power reserve, keeps good time. Strap it on and enjoy, this one won’t need any maintenance for the foreseeable future.
Strap: Included is this two-tone dark brown-maroon Shell Horween strap by our own @jankoxxx with black stitching and a black feed-through.
Seller Reviews
Plenty reviews available here, but either my username is too short to use the search function for that or I’m not handling the forum software eloquently enough, which is entirely possible. Anyway:

I’m also happy to provide verification through my eBay-account that has been standing for 20 years, with >2000 reviews, 100% positive. Please do ask.
Payment, Shipping & Returns
Payment is accepted via PayPal F&F, bank transfer, Wise or cash in person. Happy to meet you for a personal transaction, of course. Coffee’s on me.
I’m asking
990€, shipped within the EU, UK or Switzerland
The watch is located in Germany. Buyers from outside of the area mentioned above are also welcome, do note that I’ll have to ask a slight premium for shipping, bringing the total to ~1025€.
No returns, please, unless I misrepresented the watch in any way.
And now, some pictures. Let me know if you require more or a certain angle I might have missed or a video.
