For sale is a stainless steel 2848 reference Seamaster with a 490 caliber movement dating to 1955. The dial features a sub-second dial and patina throughout. The movement runs, winds, and sets well, but the service history is unknown so a service is recommended prior to regular use. Additional details are below, and feel free to reach out with any questions. Dial: Original dial has developed a nice, even patina, with some light spotting - likely from loose lume (see the largest one at 2 o'clock). Radium lume has darkened and is intact on the dial markers and hour hand but some is missing from the minute hand. "Swiss" is present below the 6 marker as expected. Case: Original 34.5mm 2848 case has some wear but is pretty sharp. It may have been polished at some point in it's life, but the bevels on the lugs are still clearly visible. There are small scratches and dings throughout the case but none are significant. "Seamaster" and "Waterproof" engraving is clearly visible on the case back. Crown: Original signed clover crown. Crystal: Clean, generic crystal. Movement: 490 caliber movement is clean. Watch runs, winds, and sets well. Service history is unknown so a service is recommended prior to use. Serial number dates the watch to 1955. Strap: Generic brown leather strap with a stainless steel buckle. Price is $500. I'll cover insured US shipping, international shipping to be discussed with buyer. OF seller reviews are here. Returns are accepted if watch is grossly misrepresented. Watch is located in Seattle, WA, USA.
