I got this one back today from my Omega resto man. Serviced. Pusher replaced. Rest left alone. Now running great. There has been a lot of internal discussion as I wrestle with the idea of it being a redial. However I was told that it came from original owner - his name engraved on back 1955. And it only ever went back to Omega for service. My man says no evidence of redial. I am new to Cosmics. I am interested to see what the great and good make of it. Might order an extract for it.

I really love this reference and your watch has a great look to it. I love the coffin markers, and I don't think I've seen them very often.

The OMEGA looks quite plausible to me. I assume your concern is the outer 24-hour track? If so, it's a bit hard to see the printing. Perhaps a few more photos might stimulate some discussion.

yes the outer ring was the thing that made me question it. Not reversing the numbers from 9-23. Not in blue etc. The 7s are odd too - different. But my man said it may well have been done back at Omega in the 1960s if at all, It is a pretty thing and def a keeper for the collection. I love it on the blue suede! Will take another pic...

Yes, I see what you mean. There seems to be a lot of inconsistencies between different 2s and 7s, for example.

Very nice looking watch, huge congrats. For me, the position of the hour markers doesn´t match the markings on the outer ring at all. I don´t belive that this is the original Setup.

True, the minute track is consistently rotated with respect to the applied markers. In the original photo I wasn't sure because it was taken at an angle, but in the straight-on photo, it's really quite clear.

Indeed I think the verdict is redial. Perhaps by Omega. We will never know now. I like it very much and will be wearing it regularly. Thanks to all who commented.

I definitely think the minute track has been redone, there are just too many inconsistencies in the print, but the Omega looks good. I'd say the minute track was redone years ago judging by the damage to it at the 28 and between the 30 and 31. Regardless it's a good looking watch and a keeper.

Even if, as seems to be the case, a redial/refinished dial, the work looks like it was done reasonably well, rather than any slap-dash sham job. Definitely a collection keeper. 😀

I join the club.

There are some discrepancies, also with the hands, but the watch still looks very nice. 😀

This one I have is how I think the dial should look like - same style markers but not all applied like OP's watch:

Yup that’s very pretty. I assume my date hand was blue once. I note that does not have the number reversal which seems prevalent in others.

Number reversal if not in the square tdmp means redial.
