1951 Omega reference 2639, calibre 265 with creamy patina dial and radium lume numerals

Hello Omega Forums,

Today I am offering another beautiful Omega, this time with a calibre 265 which was a later version of the 30T2.

Dial
As you can see the dial has an absolutely delightful creamy patina, what may not be obvious in the photos is that the dial has almost an iridescence too which makes it even more compelling. The creamy numerals too beautifully compliment the dial and make quite a beautifully balanced design. It is relatively simple making it very legible and easy to read. The radium lume no longer glows, but this is to be expected for an 80 year old watch. The watch has very nice syringe style hands that again make for quite a bold and striking aesthetic. The sub dial at 6 o clock shows the seconds.

Case
The case is in good condition and measures a very substantial 36mm in diameter not including the crown, which is quite unusual for this era in general, making it an ideal sized watch for modern use. As we collectors like to see it has not suffered from excessive polishing, the chamfers are all present - and overall it is a very well preserved piece. The original crown too is present.

Movement
The movement is a 265 calibre which was a later version of the famed 30T2 calibre manual movement and it is running very strong. I haven’t had it serviced during my ownership however so I would recommend factoring in a service at some point in the future. I have not however noticed anything that would bring me any concern.

Strap
The pictured strap is not included, so, the watch is sold as head only, however if you would like I will add one of my spares to it for you to wear straight away free of charge.
