1950s UG Bumper

This Universal Genève automatic is powered by the correct cal. 138 SS bumper movement, beating at 18,000 bph, and housed in a period-correct U.S. Star Watch Case Co. 14k gold-filled case, as was common for Universal Genève watches imported into the U.S. in the early 1950s due to tariff regulations. The dial shows honest age and appears original, with applied markers and handset consistent with the era but of course I would like any differing opinions.
Timegrapher readings indicate the watch is mechanically stable but seriously due for routine service, which is expected for an untouched vintage bumper. Overall, an example of Universal Genève’s early automatic production

Did you buy, or are you selling?

Either way, I hope it’s cheap. Case has been poorly repaired and overall condition doesn’t look good.

Highest and best use might be as a parts source for a collector with several older Polerouters.

Hey Artis, welcome to the forum and thanks for posting your watch. Do you have any other UG ? As @gatorcpa said it's not in great condition, but for $350 I think it's OK if you like it.
