Asking $875 Shipped in US Up for sale is another 1950s Seamaster, this one a 2848 Cal. 490. Watch appears all original. Dial has aged to an brownish color shown in the pictures. It's just been serviced as well. Case is in good condition with the lugs still sharp. Comes with a blank paper, a broken box and just the top of the outer box. Not sure if these are the original accessories but the hang tag matches the serial on the movement. Measures about 34-35mm in diameter. If you have any questions feel free to pm me.
Even though from a collectors view it all has to be in great condition, to have some watches in your collection with patina is a good thing. This is a great example, if I could afford it I would get this one.
Just quick question what does bump mean? What does dibs mean? I think dibs is like approval thumbs up if you like.
Dibs means 'please can I have first refusal if you decide to sell' or 'can I have first dibs'. Bump means 'bring up my post'.
GLWFS! That cal 490 must be a really early auto-rotor for Ω. Probably around a 16,000,000 serial?? Edit: I just noticed the serial is there on the hang-tag ! 14,848,xxx probably made soon after my beloved '54 bumper Connie, a 14,311,xxx serial with a cal 354...
