    Dear OF,

In a continued effort to consolidate my watch collection to 6 pieces, time has come to make tough choices. Next up on the chopping block is what I would consider one of the three most iconic 1950s designs, together with the Omega Constellation and the UG Polarouter.

The case is stainless steel and in good shape, with clear bevels. The chunky lugs make for a nice wrist presence and they balance the chunky hour markers well. The lack of a date function means the dial is very symmetric, which I find very appealing. The hour markers are placed on a brushed reflective ring that surrounds the dial and which catches the light wonderfully. The contrasting textures create a great sense of depth. While these watches aren't incredibly rare, it is uncommon to find an example with a dial as well-preserved as this. The inner dial vertical texture is usually lost due to paint reactions.

The hands and hour markers are rose gold and the reflective ring shows an intricate and evenly spread 'starry' patina.

The medallion is sharp but the enamel was lost.

I believe the watch to be fully original, including the crown. Please consider the video below for a good representation of the watch in daylight.

The movement is cal. 19AS. http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk&Longines_19AS
