1950s LeCoultre Wrist Alarm (early Memovox) cal. 814

Dear all.

I am now offering for sale my second LeCoultre, this time an early Wrist Alarm (would later be called Memovox) in rather excellent condition.




As you can see the dial is in nearly as good condition as you could wish for. The only mark is found between the six and seven marker and the metallic marker track has some aging, which is evident on all I have seen of these. Note that all the radium lume on both hands and dial is present and has aged evenly and beautifully.



The unpolished, 34mm steel case (16mm lugs) with screw-down caseback, brushed sides and polished bezel/frontside lugs is in fine fettle. There are no scratches of significance, only hairlines and none of these are on the brushed parts. The caseback has some marks, but again there are no deep scratches.




Note that the unsigned crowns are correct for this era.

I bought the watch from an OF member and it has previously been sold on here - for reference and pictures of the movement, the listing can be found here. As noted there the watch was serviced in 2015 and the watch is supremely nice to operate. Winding and setting is smooth and the alarm is precise and very loud.


I am asking €1400 for this collector grade LeCoultre, bank transfer preferred. PP is available at a slightly higher price to accommodate for their low exchange rates and fees for transferring funds to my bank account. I'll gladly ship to anywhere in the world at cost (usually €17 or so for tracked shipping). I will be happy to take returns within a week of receiving the LeCoultre, but I sincerely doubt this will be necessary. You will be hard pressed to find one in similar condition 😀


At a cost of €130 I'll include this BoR bracelet with an expanding clasp that I have been using for the watch - it suits it perfectly:
