From my collection I have a very good condition Alpina hand wound wristwatch from the 1950s. It looks great, and has the desirable 592 movement.
Alpina is one of the mostly forgotten “grand old names” of the Swiss watch industry. The caliber 592 was one of their finest designs. The quality and reputation is on such a level that some modern designer watches has come out during the last years with NOS Alpina 592 movements in them!
In 1948 the school of watchmaking at the cantonal polytechnic in Biel chooses the 12-ligne hand-wound Alpina caliber 592 to serve as the school’s didactic caliber. This choice underscores the fact that this movement was especially precise, reliable and robust.

Case: Very good condition with only minor signs of carful use. The plating is in great condition. Stainless steel back, gold plated case. It meassures 36.5(34 without crown) x 42 x 10 mm.18mm lug width.

Caseback: Screwdown back.

Movement: Alpina caliber 592 running with good amplitude (285 degrees) and +45sec/day.

Dial: Lovely white dial with gold numerals and markers in a very good and unrestored condition.

Hands: Original (unrestored). Some patina, mostly noticeable in macro pictures. Adds to the great character of this watch!

Crystal: Excellent condition.

Crown: Unsigned.

Strap: Black leather strap (generic) in “as new” condition with gilt buckle.

Price: EUR185 PayPal fees inclusive.

Shipment: The watch and I are located in Norway. I will be helpful to assist in keeping import taxes at reasonable levels. Please contact me for shipment options.
