Is it not friggin obvious when you see a franken vs what the designer intended? This OP watch is a poster child for what your gut should be telling you. Another clinic thread! What a contrast!

Larry, I am not very experienced. This is the second 30T2 '40 I have. And the font 'G' is different from my first one. I am coming here to learn and trying hard not to waste everyone's time. I am happy to learn today that I need a set of correct hands and very appreciative to even get the part number for that.

Sorry this was such a contrast. Learning for me too. Did not mean to direct it at you. I'm a year into this.

Well, I wrote 'something like that'. First you have to check the size of the hands and ensure that it is the right reference. You will need to replace the second hand also.
Regarding the identification of franken, there is at least a simple check : luminous hands = luminous dial, non luminous hands = non luminous dial. If there is a mismatch one or the other has been replaced.

You need the case number - 2383-4

You also need the caliber number - 30T2PC?

You call or email a parts supplier and with those two parts. They can locate the hands if they have in stock.

    Here lies the problem

You need to be sure the dial is original and somebody didn't swap the dial out for something else that fit.

Measure the length of the current minute hand from the center to the tip (est. thru the crystal) and mention the length and see if original match up if they have in stock

That is the fun of this hobby!
Start a search and befriend experts like Yann, who is the best from the turn of the last century until 1940, in my opinion .
Find out what you love and make friends. Frank, you now have a great hobby!

I must admit i have never seen this type of dial on a 2383, they use to have this kind of dial layout, i could suspect the dial have been swapped at some time and that explain the hands.
