Hi guys, I just purchased this Zenith which appears to be 1940s because I liked the aesthetic. Dimensions are 29mm width and 38mm length which is perfect for me. Any info is welcomed.

Could you post same pics of the inner caseback and movement?

Those aren’t available since the watch is still in shipping. This is a listing pic.

Did you buy it with only that photograph?

    Omega from 1937:

This shape was apparently a thing in the late 1930’s.

I had the pleasure of buying this from @Risto last year! If it's like mine, your watch will have a 10.5 NSI (nouvelle savonette I) movement. On Watchuseek there is an old thread with an extract for a 3.08 million serial which was October 1936, so The 3.11 million serial should put production at early 1937. (The caseback inscription is 15/7/37.) This other thread suggests that 68,400 of this movement were made, though I'm not sure the source for that!

I like the way it anticipates the style of the Defy many years later.

This style of case apparently had a number of versions, here's a slightly different style with crown at 12, but same hands as mine (source):

Some came in chromed cases like this overpriced beater on eBay (source):

I'd love to see a Zenith catalogue from this era if anyone has one...
