Dear OF, I am offering this small Tavannes from my personal collection. I believe it to be from the 40s and while it has imperfections, it does have the coveted 'Tre Tacche' (three notch) caseback style. It has not been serviced in my possession though is in running order, so a service is recommended before daily use. Cosmetic Details Case Size: 30mm Lug-to-Lug Size: 37mm Lug Width: 16mm The watch comes on a used, vintage brown open ended two piece strap. It wears very nicely on a 6.5" (17cm) wrist. If interested I can provide a new 16mm strap on request. Case Condition The stainless steel case is stepped and has drilled lug holes. It has light marks from use, and may have had a light polish in the past though I am unsure if this is the case. The crown appears original to the watch and is easy to wind. Crystal and Dial Condition The crystal remains clear and has some light marks from use. The radium lume has aged nicely on the sector dial hour numerals and hour hand, while the minute hand has been relumed/repainted. The words 'Tavannes, Shock Absorber' and 'Swiss' are crisp and legible at the top, middle and bottom of the dial respectively. Despite the size, the subdial railroad track is printed nicely and is finished off with concentric circles. Caseback and Movement Condition The screw on caseback marks and has the numerals '8263120' engraved between two of the three notches. I put a protective sticker on top of the caseback during my light use. Inside, the watch is protected by a dust cover, while the caseback is marked 'Tavannes Watch Co Swiss' along with the words 'Staybrite' and 'Swiss Made' along with the serial number 28304. There apppears to be one or service marks on it. The 15 jewel movement is marked "Tavannes Watch Co Patented" on one of the bridges and has a 'TXW' import code, indicating it was for the American market. While unserviced in my posession, it winds and runs well.
