I sent my "54" Seamaster back to Omega last year for a full service, the watch was original and the case was in reasonable condition however it's timekeeping and reliability was a bit hit and miss to say the least.
Two weeks later the watch came back from Biel, the movement completely overhauled, but the case and dial left original. The work was superb, prompt and went beyond the extra mile in my opinion the way the watch was returned in a new box with extras. Can't speak highly enough of Omega factory service department, who on receiving the watch a member of staff called me at home to ask exactly what I would like the full service to include.

Although I'm an advocate of originality, this redone dial was a step in the right direction. Tks for sharing this beautiful watch TS. lollipop hour hand is cool

A few thoughts for what it's worth:
First, an Omega redial and refurb is probably as good as it gets. Argue all you like about whether the redial should have been done, but getting the team that made the watch to do it is legit.
Second, in retrospect, it would have been great to get both dials done at once. The fob watch and this is an amazing pair, so I would have made the most of the opportunity.
Finally, I love that your daughter wears this. My advice would be to get a bespoke strap made to the correct length for her (current one is way too long). I use Delugs.com but there are heaps out there.
Enjoy this wonderful family legacy!

No need, that watch likely wants an 11/16" strap, and those are available in "regular", a bit small for many modern men, and "short", fits plenty of women.
