Good morning.

I am new member, trying to buy my first Omega, I did a trade for this piece seller called "It doesn't have a reference, it's a 1920s marriage watch if that helps"

A friend told me that his jeweler said it should be in a museum.

I attached the photos hopefully one of you guys can tell me if is in fact a real omega or straight from Kiev.

Thank you for your time!

"Marriage watch" means it was assembled from a pile of random spare parts from other watches. It's a more polite term for what is often called a "Frankenstein watch". It would have virtually zero collectible value.

If the seller straight-up told you it was "marriage" it doesn't sound like they're scamming. However, a museum piece it's definitely not.

What do you think would a fair value for a piece like this? Based on a fact that the movement is real?

For the educated.

I wouldn't pay more than $50-$75 USD. Assuming I really liked the dial, hands and case. (Which I don't).

The biggest problem is that- due to its age the movement almost certainly needs servicing. Which will run you a few hundred dollars minimum. Could be more, if the watch has problems. Any vintage watch you buy will have the same issue. Due to the fact that this one is a complete mystery/Frankenstein, there's no way of predicting what it will cost to get it wearable. It's not a good place to start.

I think this guy is actually from Kharkiv . Not sure where he is getting his movements from, but dials are just his improvised "artwork" . He has plenty of "vintage special" watches for sale on eBay. I don't even know, if movements have anything to do with Omega either.

Those hands? On that background? I’d get dizzy just trying to read the time 😵‍💫

There are arguably more interesting watches like this (non genuine marriage watches) on eBay that are 'iwc'. Check them out!
