    Was reading this Hodinkee article

And saw this 18K White Gold Omega Constellation Piepan on bracelet

Very not cheap, but you'd expect that for a WG piepan on bracelet, but you don't see many of them around so it was worth posting pics. Its a ref 14394 SC on a very unusual looking bracelet design, but with an Omega signed clasp, not sure if its an Omega made bracelet or a third party / jeweller bracelet but it does look quite cool either way.

For me this is one of those watches that interests the mind but does not ignite the heart.

It's a collector's watch, not one for enthusiasts.

nicely put - more to be admired than enjoyed

I suspect that's about the price point though. I'd enjoy it plenty if it were priced more like a yellow gold Deluxe. It's really a very elegant, subtle piece.

As they say: A little bit of knowledge is extremely dangerous. Well I'm afraid that can sometimes describe me. Having some slight knowledge of goldsmiths it would be my guess that the bracelet was manufactured by someone other than Omega. Reason being the shape of the Omega logo on the clasp doesn't look like the quality logo that came directly from Bienne. Not saying it's bad, just saying, guessing, it's not OEM Omega. Am I making any sense, maybe?

First of all, where did the $40,000 price tag come from? Seems much too high despite the rarity. I like it between $10k and $15k and could see even up to $20k.

Second, with $40,000 I'd be buying a host of other watches AND paying for ALL my remodeling.

I guess I just don't get it anymore. Maybe I'm becoming normal.

Miki - I undertand you and agree, for the same reason. The Ω logo just isn't correct.
