·It’s definitely had a hard life and the pics show neglect for many years. The lugs are well polished/worn and have gone beyond what’s acceptable for my tastes.
It will clean up but the condition will still only be fair to average.

I‘d say dirt - if it was missing the bezel, the gap would look different between lugs and plexi. Still, a pass for me, too.

·I definitely wouldn't purchase this particular example. I came across it while looking at old iPods on the website. Thought it make make an interesting conversation. Seems odd someone would engrave something in the inner circle above the observatory.. Looks like it says $4249CN
