Morning,

As the subject reads, when I activate the chronograph on my speedmaster, sometimes around the 4-8 minute mark, all hands stop moving... if I tap the watch, the hands get unstuck and start moving again. Any idea what causes this, and is it time for a service? Watch was purchased in 2018, and maybe been worn 20 times...

 

Sounds like a service is in order. I had the same issue a couple of years back with my Speedy cal. 861 and to it to my watchmaker. One service and new mainspring later it was working perfectly again

 

Thanks Togri... I should have taken it in right when I bought the watch... I assumed this issue would go away, but no such luck!

 

Well, at least you tried to wait it out, so kudos for the effort.
