Super cool! You've inspired me to wear mine as it definitely doesn't get the wrist time it deserves! (I love the watch but I just feel it's a bit small on my wrist).

So the project is complete (from 2020 mainly due to the bracelet and endlink hunt). The silver dial had never been serviced (48 years) and the dark blue had some water damage. The Dark Blue was due to be a donor watch but now I am glad both are saved. Kieren and the Omega approved Swiss Time team in the UK did a grand job for me. For daily wear I plan to use an after market bracelet and for now I suspect the silver dial (John Cleese ) will get more wrist time. I am very pleased to have the 176.007 at last. @0uss has a lot to answer for making me like these - he was the enabler :0)
.

Lovely couple 🥰 Congrats and wear them in good health @Omegafanman 😀

Very interesting discussion.

I was also amused to see one of my photos being used in the opening post among others illustrating the many watches having used the Lemania 1341 movement. 😁

I have no issue whatsoever, especially if used for something that well documented. It just gave a me a "wait a minute..." moment. 😉

Reading a Fratello article that touches on the 3 watches Omega submitted to NASA in 1978 for selection in the shuttle program, it appears NASA clays clarified/confirmed that one of those watches submitted was not the 125 (with cal.1041), but instead the predecessor to the FIFA, containing the altogether separate cal.1045 (lacking a 24hr indicator, etc.)

I find this information particularly interesting because I has always wondered why/whether NASA (or the astronauts) had valued the 24hr indication on the cal.1041 when submitted (being of the view that a watch in space should have a 24hr indicator), but this correction from Omega suggests they in fact never submitted to NASA a watch with a 24hr indicator.

Fratello in the article first reports the lore of the 125 being amongst the 3 tendered by Omega, but then at the end of the article returns with a correction

Picked up this 176.001 on a random happenstance (browsing unsorted listings on watchrecon, dangerous!) earlier this year.
I've grown to adore it so much, I've decided I must add a 176.007 if I can find one from a trusty US seller.

Not surprised it's hard to find, I don't think many choose to let them go

Oh dang. Thanks for sharing. It’s so close. Looks great. I’m after a white hour totalizer subdial and the minutes printed on the dial instead of the indices. Since I already have an .001, I think I need the .007 to be precisely the combination I’m after.

Any chance a there’s a compatible part out there like this might fit this case?
https://www.spiralwinderwatchparts....eback-for-1960s-seamasters-and-constellations

It looks like the website will offer advice :-

Fits….

14381/14393

14900/14902/167.005/168.005

165.001/166.001

165.003/166.003

165.010/166.010

14700/14701

and many more.

If your reference isn't in this list, contact me, and I can check to see if this caseback is compatible with your watch.

I saw that and sent them a note. In the scenario it doesn’t fit, I was posting to seek out any other manufacturers.

The manufacturer confirmed, the spiralwinder will not fit the 176 series watches. As I anticipated.
Takes me back to the original question, anyone encounter a display caseback for these anywhere else?
