Looking for the old style raised symbol gold 16mm buckle in 14k gold filled or yellow gold. Thanks' Buck Note: Need 16mm, title is a typo
"Zackly", thanks for the edit, Dennis. I'm going to put a new strap and buckle on a '51 beauty I got from Alpha. It's a gold filled case and I want to match the color.
As mentioned numerous times on this forum, be VERY wary of fake logo buckles. There might be more of them than fake Omega watches.
There is a million of them out there, it's just that none of them are real. I don't even like fake boobs.
Tell me, I've been on the hunt for a while and the real ones are usually spotted by the likes of us and either go quick or dear. Press on, never give up
I hope you don't see this one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RARE-194...9062?pt=AU_Watches&hash=item58a1bab1e6&_uhb=1Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Montal Watch Fittings produced, 1949? That would be my recommendation to get a genuine solid gold buckle - safety of a known high quality UK producer and British hallmarks...
Jim, you going for it ? I really prefer YG but that is a beauty. It's hard to tell how pink it is with the patina so heavy.
Er....I think somebody is bidding on it If I happen to get it and find it unsuitable I'll let you know. Or it may be the other way around
James, I'd much rather we be supportive as gentlemen than adversarial as bidders ! Good luck and keep me in mind. If you happen to see something, perhaps a pm to evade the trollers. Mathler and Dennis, I am appreciative of the help.
Well, it just passed my limit ($150), still a few days to go so it'll be interesting to see who wants it and how badly. Next time
The only way to justify these $ is if it is the missing piece of some grail set or if $ aren't really of much concern to you ! I guess these have no chance of being real. Plated gold wouldn't bother me if it was really an Omega buckle. It's for a daily wearer not a grail. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221248612255?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network http://www.ebay.com/itm/161056509867?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Nice try on the second one, I have to say! Looks very similar to Omega parts packaging. Some tips I use: 1. "Acier Inox" is French shorthand for stainless steel. It should not be engraved on a gold plated buckle. Swiss made buckles will have "Plaque G" on the back with a manufacturer's mark. 2. "Acier Inox" is two words with a space in between. Almost all the Asian fakes have it as one word. Genuine US made plated or steel buckles generally have "OMEGA" on the back and nothing else. 3. On solid gold buckles, they never had just "14K" on the back. Always either said "Omega 14K" (US), or "0,585" and some sort of a manufacturers mark (Swiss). Same for 18K. Almost never have to worry about the UK made gold buckles as they are fully hallmarked. That's probably why they bring a little bit more on eBay. gatorcpa
How about the UK sellers? I've sent a request for pix of both sides as I can hardly make these out but realize (realise) I'm fooling myself. http://www.ebay.com/itm/230997218820?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Thank you very much, Evan, you've been most helpful on several occasions, even in tax season !
