Anyone has a 16700 and 16710 that has developed nice patinas on the dial and hands? Haven’t seen much of such pieces around as compare the the sub or SD of similar age. Any thoughts on this?

I have noticed it too. For some reason they are very stable.

The hands on my 1993 / S series 16700 have turned a duller shade of white than the lume plots. Its only really noticeable when indoors.

No sign of anything turning yellow or pumpkin

If you search 16700 on the HQmilton site, there are a few that have creamy markers though. And there is one example that has a right old mixture of different colours on the same watch - from cream to bright white.

Well I am sure they exist, but anecdotally I have never seen one and I have owned more than a few. But I would NEVER insinuate that a dealer would use lighting and/or filtering to over enhance the appearance of desirable and value increasing patina. Never.

Nor would I - and Not sure anyone could/ would create this patina, as uneven as this, would they?

No patina yet. Early 90s. 16700

Nice faded bezel - is that one original to the watch?

I would not know. I bought it from HQ Milton. As long as it is period correct, I do not mind.

I used to have a 16700 and the patina on the markers are awesome! A pity that the original hands don't age the same as it's probably made by a different component supplier. Enjoyed the watch very much though.

Sorry, but i have Never seen that before, and some of the lume plots look “lumpy” - very unRolex-like

Ha e you had this since new, or is there a chance that the lume plots have been refilled or touched up?
