Hello forum members,

i am interested to buy this 166.024 , however would like to ask your opinion about the inside of the caseback, is this engraving 166024 normal? Usually we see 166.024-67 etc stamped.

thank you for your help

best

I can see there is also a circle, apart from the unusual graphics. The number seems stencil engraved rather than punched.

There is a belief that rotors with the “0” are replacement rotors (not sure how true). May be that was a replacement back, marked with “0” and reference inscribed ad hoc.

Hi

Thanks for the replies,
I already checked the mentioned links.
Clearly those reference number engravings are not the regular stamps seen on the 166.024 casebacks, hence i am seeking advice on this forum.
The caseback looks genuine Omega , the present stampings on the inner caseback look genuine too, were there any casebacks of the sort with blank reference numbers? So that presumably the engravings of the reference number were added later, or this is an early service caseback?

I’m no expert on these, but I did check out the seamaster300 link Passover shared and in the list of acceptable casebacks, there’s definitely one that looks just like yours

Thank you, but if you look good , the caseback i am asking about has the reference number engraved (not stamped) , whereas the casebacks in the links provided have the reference numbers STAMPED.
