166.002 or Franken?

Hi guys,

Currently considering buying this Seamaster. Have found several examples but the numbers don't tie up on the Omega database.

Caseback: 166.002
Serial: 23.... (1966)
Cal. 562

Anyone know what the story is with these things? There seems to be quite a few kicking around.

Hi there, appreciate the reply, especially as it's my first post and all.

The Omega database doesn't show this caliber within any 1966 Seamaster yet I've seen these sold on reputable online vintage watch shops and once or twice in this forum.

Just trying to get my head around whether it's all kosher.

The Omega database has lots of incomplete information, best to use it as a general guide and not a bible.
