I have never owned a gold watch before, but I'm considering getting one. I wanted to ask you for your advices. Obviously gold is softer than steel, so it's gonna get dinged up more easily if you're not careful.

However, how much wear and tear should you expect with normal careful usage?

This is an 18k watch after 10 years of wear before and after polishing.

Did you take any more photos of it?

This is my first and only before picture. Wasn't savvy enough to do an end to end session as I will never sell it or have comparison with how it would come back from the complete overhaul service.

Not forgetting wear on a 14k watch will be a lot less than a 18k. Plenty of 18k vintage watches that are 50 years old and still look good.

Is it a dress watch your after in gold?

18k rose gold

14k yellow gold

Was gonna buy one of those de ville vintage watches in 14k, so I'm considering whether it will look horrible after some decades of careful usage, or if it's gonna be ok
