··Prolific Speedmaster HoarderHello again, the watch is with me and further updated photos are added to the thread, The price remains the same.
Here is a lovely example owned by me since 2012 and serviced at STS in 2014. I have lost track of the record itself, just a note in my files. As the guarantee is exhausted anyway it has little value. I will personally guarantee any movement issue myself for six months - you just have to send it to me on your account.
These photos are pre Hand adjustment, see added photos below in an additional post.
For me the 1971 is the perfect intersection of Vintage appeal (Stepped dial) usability (Calibre 861) and affordability.
This watch is when the stamped medallion and engraved back first appeared together:
Case is clean, and has had earlier polishing. Not a re polished case as in rolex, just a case that has been hand polished as per Omega standard service.
Inside case back with service marks. Judging by the screws, this movement has been taken good care of as they are largely unmarked.
Correct dust cover. New pushers evident. Also new crown. In this reference as the originals are the same as the service replacements I like to change them.
Movement was serviced by STS in 2014 and I do not have the paper - however I will repair any movement fault for six months after you receive it, as long as you return it to me at your expense.
Note the screws are all in very good condition, indicating this has been serviced by proper people.
The hour subdial hand has lost all its paint. I did not ask STS to repaint it as I like to leave things as they come to me where possible. It is a small thing to paint it. However the risk is it will not match, or it will stand out. Currently it blends in with the watch.
In the photographs the dial has a very light brown hint - I would not call it a brown dial, rather it is typical of these -71's in having this very attractive tint.
Why am I selling?
Well I have another, better one. As anyone who knows me through this forum knows, Mrs Fruit is getting a house and its costing me a fortune. I dont use banks to keep my wealth, I use objects and speedmasters are part of my wealth storage.
Who am I?
I am a enthusiastic private collector, holding a large number of watches. I sell only when I need to finance something else. I do not acquire watches to profit, but to collect. Of course I welcome an uplift when I sell, but it is not my motive. I have many references here on this forum, and I wrote the site www.speedmaster101.com. My reputation is important to me.
Terms
Payment by Bank Wire, in UK pounds sterling to my company account in Hong Kong, or Crypto currency. (HSBC compelled me to acquire my special objects through a company account, as the amounts were varying, unpredictable, and they would not let me do it through my private account. So thats why you have to send it to my company). If you are uncomfortable with this, then I will wait until you are.
Returns
While they are not welcomed, I will take it back if you are seriously miserable and very, very nice about it. Obviously you have to pay the shipping, and get it back to me in the same condition as I sent it.
Delivery
Face to face is welcome, in UK, GU8 area. UK delivery is by registered Mail, insured to 2500.
Otherwise I can ship in USA via parcel pro after 18th April or any other way you want. Or Face to face in Chicago after 18th.
