Hello everyone,

just bought a 145.022-69 ST with DON Bezel. Seller stated that he bought the watch 29 years ago and never changed a thing. Here are some Pics from the selling...

DON looks really good in my opinion. Checked all the fonts and compared to other genuine DON Bezels. Every Dot ist where is should be i think. But im far from being an expert.

I Took a wristshoot yesterday an if you look closely you will see a Double Print on the bezels. Only visible in a certain angle and lighting.

If the seller ist honest and really had the watch for so long without changing anything, then this cant be a reproduction Bezel right? Back than nobody cared about any Dots so there where no fakes i would think?

What do you guys think of the bezel? Whats up with the Printing?

Best, Fabian

Sure looks as though someone has repainted the bezel insert. Never heard of this being done at the manufacture. I think the key phrase in your query is "if the seller is honest". And even if so, memories fade.

Picked the watch up in person. The seller seemed like an OK Guy and said he bought the Watch for 2000 Deutsche Mark at a watch fair in Düsseldorf 29 Years ago. if its repainted and got a new print i wonder how its so well done as the reproductions alway have weak spots dont they? everythings seems so fine executed here...fonts..dots etc

maybe its just a misprint from the factory. Omega did crazy stuff during that time

When you look very very closely you can see theres an accent over the E in the "misprinted" or "doubleprinted" Tachymetre

I vote for the crazy Omega factory misprint, but that's just my guess. Sweet looking Speedy by all means. Hope you got a nice deal!

I would be surprised and interested to learn that anyone but the factory could “re do” a bezel that well.

But I’d be equally surprised and interested to learn that the factory would “re do” a bezel.

As someone else mentioned, though, the early 1990s are a far away and strange land. And this bezel brings to mind one such early 1990s fad

I have seen one or two DNNs with obvious double-printing, with the numbers having sort of a double-vision look to them up close. Everything else looks good to me and I vote factory misprint.

I vote "factory" reprint as well--it appears to be too perfectly done to be an aftermarket effort. I imagine Omega outsourced these and it would not surprise me to see a vendor re-use rejects in this way. It's subtle enough that one could imagine the watch assembler miss it, too.

If it is a factory error, that’s quite a unique example that you have on your hands. Perhaps it’s worth your contacting Omega to see what their take on this is.
