Spacefruit
··Prolific Speedmaster HoarderAcquired by me in 2017 from original owner. Selling due to my one out one in rule. (I still have about six to go).
An unusually early serial 145.022-69 in the 28m range.
Lovely original condition bought from original owner, who had it serviced but as we can see all parts remain original, and all match together. Note the dial, which is black but has that lovely secondary tint of brown. Its not tropical, but it is not full black either.
Extract of the Archives shows issued 16 December 1969 to Switzerland.
The original (American) owner purchased this watch in Switzerland and wore it until he put it away about 20 years ago. The reason I like original owner watches is that I can be more confident the watch has not had parts changed or swapped and in this watch it is clear all the parts look right together.
It is in very good condition over all, and the dial has a very slight hint of brown. It is not a brown dial, it just has that lovely colour that some vintage dials go - "Off- Black" for want of a better description.
Case is good, a few signs of wear but nothing major
Bezel is a fabulous. DO90
It was serviced in 2017 by Simon Freese, just before he started officially working. So I have no document, but I will personally guarantee the movement for one year, and all you have to do is get it to Simon in UK and it will be attended to at my expense. (I am sure it will not need attention)
Movement is in exceptional condition and shows no damage - in spite of some service marks clearly it was worked on by people who knew what they were doing.
Period correct dust cover
Clean movement
Bracelet is 1039 with 516 endlinks. The bracelet is marked 67/4 which is earlier than the watch. When I asked the owner he said he had not changed it since he bought the watch in Switzerland.
What is good about this watch?
It is original, from one owner, before me, and has all correct and original parts, including a very good dial and DO90 bezel. It is very attractive overall as it looks right. Indeed that is because it is with all the parts are original to the watch.
It is also, in my opinion, very good value compared to any other on the market today.
What is bad about this watch?
Nothing. The box has non original watch carrier.
Why am I selling?
I still have a few more watches to sell to balance out the "one in one out" policy from last year. I sell this one as I am keeping a better one. Just because I have a better one doesn't mean this one is rejected, I really do have too many. I think I have a really good buyers eye, and just because I have to sell this watch doesn't mean I don't really like it - I do.
SALES TERMS
I am a private collector who rarely sells. When I do, most of the time my watches sell very quickly, and to the first person that PM's me with the words, "I will buy this watch now at your price"
I try my best to price my watches less than anything else I see listed to ensure a quick smooth easy sale.
In the past several people have been upset because although they are the first to reply, they ask if I can do a better price - meanwhile someone has agreed my price.
I am not in the slightest bit offended by offers, but remember that they will only make sense if the watch remains unsold after a few days.

are OK if you are really nice about it, and don't cost me anything to get it back to me and the watch is in the same condition as it arrived with you. But please, if you are in two minds then do not buy. I am not a dealer and I am not on standby to accept a return. Getting a watch back to me will often involve you getting it safely back to Simon Freese in UK at your expense. So please, think hard about buying and be sure.
Price is £6300 (This is about $8000 equivalent)
By Bank Transfer to my HSBC account Hong Kong in £, $ or HKD against my invoice which will show all of our details all in one sheet. Please remember all charges to be borne by your side, and might be as much as £50 if your bank is as bad as some are.
Notes on my position and ethos
I am not motivated by profit and so I have no reason to embellish or over describe. I sell my watches to make room for more that I have bought. I have been on eBay since 2002 with 100% feedback. I have bought and sold a few watches on www.OmegaForums.net and you can find my feedback by searching my username. I am the author of Speedmaster101.com and protecting my reputation is more important to me than selling off a watch. I am not a watch dealer, I make my money elsewhere, watches are my pleasure.
